About Beastmaster Kennel
Since 2000, one consistent philosophy.
Beastmaster Kennel has operated with one clear direction: breed dogs that are as capable as they are impressive. The goal has never been trend-chasing. It has always been balance, presence, and functional power.
Since 2000, A Consistent Philosophy
From Rottweilers to red-nosed Pitbulls to the Presa Canario, the philosophy has never changed. We believe in blending show presence with working ability, pairing sound structure with stable temperament, and preserving true power without sacrificing beauty.
We believe the complete guardian must:
- Have strong prey drive
- Possess stable, confident temperament
- Move correctly
- Carry serious bone and structure
- Look powerful doing it
We do not chase extremes. We pursue balance.
Why We Follow the 2001 Standard
While the breed standard has evolved from 1989, to 2001, and now the 2023 revision, Beastmaster Kennel has remained committed to the 2001 FCI type. Not by accident. By conviction.
The 2001 standard produced what many consider the peak era of the breed:
- Larger overall size
- More imposing, dominant presence
- Massive head type
- Powerful bone and substance
- Slight white markings permitted
- Strong, confident, commanding temperament
To us, that era represented the most complete expression of the Presa. The legendary dogs of that time defined a generation: Guahiro, Panzer, Tarantino, and Cole.
That type, the large, dominant, structurally correct big bull with unmistakable presence, is what we preserve.
Consistency Over Trend
Many programs shift direction when standards change. We did not. While others moved toward lighter frames or newer interpretations, we stayed consistent with the 2001 vision because it preserved the qualities that matter most.
- It maintained size without losing structure
- It preserved head type and bone
- It allowed for strong presence and dominance
- It produced some of the most legendary specimens in modern Presa history
We are not opposed to evolution, but we believe that era captured something rare: power, type, and presence. We refuse to dilute it.
The Beastmaster Standard
Our dogs reflect:
- Show-quality structure
- Working-level prey drive
- Massive but functional frames
- Strong, dominant temperament
- Correct movement and balance
We combine beauty with intensity. We combine aesthetics with instinct. A guardian should look like a guardian, and when it stands on your property, there should be no question what it is.
For over two decades, our direction has been steady: Show + Working. Structure + Temperament. 2001 Type + Modern Excellence. That is Beastmaster Kennel.
